Dr. Joseph Wetherhold D.M.D. graduated from Tufts University in 2002. He completed a  two year residency through the  Lutheran Medical Center in Boston, MA.  After completing his residency he worked in a public healthcare clinic in Roxbury MA. before moving to  Maine.  Since relocating to Maine he has practiced in Topsham.

Dr. Wetherhold opened Alta Dental in Freeport with the vision of offering dental patients the most comfortable dental visit.

The ”RED” area is for used dental tools. They go into the Ultrasonic bath which uses ultrasonic waves to remove any debris. Then the tools go into the high heat dryer. Next, the tools go into the steam autoclave for final sterilization and stored in the “BLUE” cabinet until ready for use.

Here is our digital X-Ray room. Digital X- Rays have many advavantages which include using 50% less radiation then the conventional x-ray units, there are no chemicals to use or dispose of,  and the images apear instantly on our computer screen.
