Dentist

Joseph Wetherhold D.M.D.

Dr. Joseph Wetherhold earned his undergraduate degree from the University of San Diego before graduating from Tufts University School of Dental Medicine in Boston, Massachusetts. Early in his career, he served with the Peace Corps in Honduras, where he taught fish farming and contributed to local development projects.

A lifelong learner committed to advancing his skills, Dr. Wetherhold is a proud member of CDOCS, SERE, and the American Dental Association (ADA). He recently completed advanced implant training in the Dominican Republic, combining hands-on education with providing much-needed dental care to underserved communities.

Deeply rooted in Freeport, Dr. Wetherhold is dedicated to meeting the dental needs of his town and the surrounding area. He and his wife, Jeffrie, share two wonderful daughters, Olivia and Zoe, along with their beloved dog, Tutu, and cat, Calvin.

When not in the office or pursuing continuing education, Dr. Wetherhold and his family enjoy heading north to their camp for rest, relaxation, and time together in nature.

Insurance Specialist/ Billing

Nasheena

Nasheena has been with Alta Dental of Maine since 2020. She is an insurance specialist who takes pride in her work and enjoys helping people get the smiles they deserve! She is originally from Lisbon Maine but moved to Alabama 15 years ago. In her free time Nasheena enjoys spending time with her husband and their 3 children!

Dental Hygienist

Janelle

Janelle has been with Alta Dental since February of 2019. She graduated with high honors from the University of New England in 2008 after representing her school by presenting her research at the 84th Annual Session Dental Hygiene Convention in New Orleans.

She has a love for continued education, and her passion for helping others inspired her to travel to the Dominican Republic as part of a medical mission group. Her experiences have enabled her to have an astute ability to explain a wide range of dental procedures to her patients; her compassion for teaching others continues in her weekend work as a ski instructor. During her time away from work Janelle enjoys spending time with family and exploring outdoors during all seasons. She can be found anywhere from the ocean to high atop a mountain.
